"Chat noir, chat blanc" (Black Cat, White Cat) my movie of the month ( october)

I ended my Halloween night with this crazy movie by Emir Kusturica (www.kustu.com), a Serbian director who just makes crazy and crazy movies.

The film started of as a usual eastern European style movie but escalated into a ridiculously funny comedy with characters the size of a Russian trading boat.

Pigs eating cars, giants marrying dwarfs, old grandpas dying and coming back to life again, 80's techno mixed with gypsy folk music, and crazy money machinations ending in unwanted marriages. All topped of with ever changing plot line ending with a nice happy end. ha.



Lovers of crazy European movies will find this film quite interesting, it offers a lot of colors in locations as well as character choices. The directors choice and his crazy mind elevates this film above normal Serbian routine life and brings it to overly drawn out characters and scenes.


I strongly recommend. I think it deserves good 9 out of 10.
