This is my last essay that i wrote for one class. It is about how documentary is getting worse and worse nowadays and how its beeing undervalued and degraded.
I primarily focus on documentary filmmaking and photography.

Check it out here, and perhaps post some coments. we could start a discussion...

Its Dallas Vash.
Nice photos and such-like, from france and that.

Documentary is tough. I agree with a lot of what you say. Lack of honour and honesty has put a lot of things into crisis in this world.

I'm sure that when you're in Africa that you will do your best to treat the people with respect and compassion.

I may find myself with similar issues, although here in Canada. Someone from work has asked me to make a video of a family reunion. It seems very touchy as the grandparents are elderly and this is being done to preserve their images and identities for future remembrances. I am very conscious of how I will approach this assignment. Not sticking the camera in their faces. I want them to trust me enough to transmit the things they want to say.

This approach has worked much better than the in your face image stealing.

Like with the Kerry doc. she could only tell me that stuff because we're friends and she trusts me. It is so important to respect certain boundaries.

makes me sound like a bleeding heart, but that's how I work baby!

nice work
hope you have fun in France
